NGC2264

This is the only One Shot image survived to the old site revision. The image is the sum of 17 frames of 900 sec taken with the FSQ telescope and an ATIK 11000 C full frame CCD.

NGC 2264 is the designation number of the New General Catalogue that identifies two astronomical objects as a single one: the Cone Nebula, and the Christmas Tree Cluster. All of the objects are located in the Monoceros constellation and are located about 800 parsecs or 2,600 light-years from Earth. In the large FOV picture are also included several other objects: NGC 2261, 2251, 2259, 2247, 2245, IC 2167 and IC 447, all in the Monoceros.
